Our Main English Genetic Family
To date 9 members with known English paternal ancestry have had their DNA tested. The results show that 6 of us are from the same genetic family. Our names are; Tom Stagles, Mark Steggall, Terry Steggle, Rob Steggle, Ray Steggles & John Steggles. We all had a minimum of 37 markers tested, for 28 of these our results were identical, the table below shows the results where we differed. Only 4 of us were tested against dys 511 & 444. Markers shown in red are ones that mutate relatively rapidly, so 1 step differences between results for these markers are not of great significance.

Rob and Terry Steggle are both descended from Martin Steggle born about 1742, 8 generations back.
Ray and John Steggles are both thought to be descended from William Steggles, born in 1749, 7 generations back. The dna results show that they have 3 matching sets of results not shared by the rest of us.
