How To Arrange For The Testing Of Your DNA

    If you are male and have one of the following surnames you are invited to join the Steggles DNA Surname Project;

Staggall, Stagl, Stagles, Stagoll, Steagall, Stedall, Steddall, Stegall, Stegalls, Steggal, Steggall, Steggalls, Steggals, Steggel, Steggell, Steggle, Steggles, Steigle, Stiegle, Stigall, Stigle, Stygaall, Stygal, Stygall, Stygalls.

    It is also possible that the names Stiles and Styles are variants of our name. However for people with these names we suggest that you join the Stiles DNA Surname Project with whom we are cooperating. We can put you in touch.

DNA Testing with FTDNA

    We have set up our Surname Project and arranged for our DNA to be tested by Family Tree DNA As a registered group we are entitled to the following discounted priced;

$148 + postage for 25 markers (YDNA 25),
$189 + postage for 37 markers (YDNA 37),
$269 + postage for 69 markers (YDNA 69).
Postage is charged at $2 for addresses within the USA and $4 outside of the USA. All prices are quoted in US Dollars. Currently there are about $2.10 to the British Pound. All payments should be made directly to Family Tree DNA. Follow the following link to send for your test kit.

    We suggest starting off with a 25 or 37 marker kit. Results from 25 markers will give a good indication as the whether you share a common male ancestor with others in our group. Having a higher number tested gives more precise information including much better information as to how closely you may be related. If required you can always arrange for an upgrade at a later date.

Free DNA Testing with Sorenson

    If you can provide them with your family tree Sorenson will test your DNA free of charge. It used to take up to 18 months for the results to be published, but they've recently expanded their facilities. Some results are now only taking 6 months, mine have just taken 9 months.
